Today we’d like to introduce you to Jennifer Lieberman. Hi Jennifer, we’d love for you to start by introducing yourself.
I’m an actor, writer and filmmaker from Maple, Canada. I began my creative career doing theatre in New York City and ended up running a small theatre company in the East Village, which is how I became a producer. After producing several off-off-Broadway productions, I landed an associate producer gig on a feature film. The film won a couple of awards at IndieFest in LA and that gave me the confidence to move to LA and transition my focus from theatre to film work.
Have you ever been stuck in a story and still forced yourself to stare at a screen for hours to fulfill a required time limit of ‘work’? Or have you ever forced out pages of nonsense to feel like you were being productive only to delete them soon after? I don’t know about you but I hate when I’m told that to be a writer I have to write everyday. The advice usually comes with a required page amount (5-10 pages a day) or a time requirement (2-5 hours) and although I know it’s well meaning, I just don’t buy it.
Jennifer Lieberman is an award-winning actor, filmmaker and best selling author from Maple, Canada. She has penned a number of screen and stage plays and her short films have screened at the Festival De Cannes among other international film festivals. Her performance career has taken all over the world from Canada, to the U.S., Australia and Europe where she has appeared in over 30 stage productions and produced upwards of 40 independent film and theatre productions.
