The book is a great read. I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it.
It explores the fear and naiveté of a young woman, thinking she's about to experience her first intimate sexual experience. The author delves into first loves, lifestyles, lust, and anything else you can think of, when a young woman starts coming to grips with her sexuality.
This book is funny, it's sensitive, it's raucous and it's touching. While the entire book has to do with sexuality, it isn't pornography. It's baudy but not smutty. It's written in a way that you're rooting for the heroin the whole way through. You want her to get what she's longing for, which she sometimes does, and not get hurt in the process, which she also, sometimes does.
The authors heroin is quirky, smart and, to use the word of the author WHAT? It's hard to describe this multi-faceted young lady, but she's very engrossing in her year of what, and often, laugh out loud funny. She brings you to the darkness, without being morose, and lifts you up into some of the most joyous moments any of us can ever hope to reach. She even sheds a light on some grooming issues, on the periphery of sexuality, in a very lighthearted way.
